interesting comment Jason, what do you mean when you say the gospel needs to be more universal and that the universe and us are one pleases expain. In addition how can you say the gospel is dated and needs to be modernized apparently you donot read the word of God with understanding and under the leading of the Holy Spirit becasue if you did you will see the relationship the "dated stories" as you call them to todays modern world take a closer look my brother....
Jason,

It would seem that you do not have an understanding of what Scripture is teaching. Without the Triune God of Scripture, we have no predication for intelligibility...we cannot make sense of the world. It is only as God has revealed Himself in Scripture that we can make sense of the world; for He has made it, and He gives meaning to it. Otherwise, we are simply molecules colliding due to time + chance, and there is no hope of the world getting better. But because Scripture has plainly revealed that God created the heavens and the earth, and they were good...then when man fell (all men fell in Adam and are born sinners b/c of Adam's fall), the earth was cursed by God. The Second Person of the Godhead came to earth to die for sinners, and to reverse the curse.

Without the Gospel, this is the way things are supposed to be...but the gospel is relevant because Jesus Christ is a victorious King, and He has come to right and rid the world of sin.

When people are left to themselves in sin, wars and strife occur. Without the gospel, man has NO hope. So, yes, the Gospel is relevant for today.
Oh, that you may receive your sight, my brotha... why settle for what the universe has to say when you can not only hear, but have RELATIONSHIP with the CREATOR of the Universe... Jesus died that you would receive sight, not only natural but spiritual as well... I pray that your eyes be opened to see that this "new age" is very "old" indeed. "Except a man be born again, he cannot SEE the kingdom of God." John 3:3 Jason, He loves you and is calling for you, drawing you to Himself... take the plunge, take His hand, enter into the greatest journey beyond your wildest dreams. With much love and appreciation that He brought ME out of New Age, psychics, horoscopes and gave me LOVE, true love, which is basically what every heart is truly looking for anyhow...
Is the Gospel RELEVANT in today’s culture?
Mark 16:15-16 And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news.
I only got to take quick glimpse of the video for I am at work replying this subject. In the USA with diverse cultures it is relevant.
Relevant meaning to having significant and demonstrable bearing on the matter at hand. People from all nationalities need to know of the risen savior name Jesus. Abraham was Chaldean a moon worshiper who learned to trust in same God who bought us a Savior. They need know the message of hope and of an eternal life through our savior Jesus Christ. It's plain and simple we can't enjoy our salvation while millions are destine to Hell. Is the Gospel RELEVANT in today’s culture yes. DJIsaiah of SoulWinning Soldiers New Jersey!

The Gospel is never outdated if anything it's ahead of it's time. We just need to understand the word of God.
The gospel transcends all culture, religion and times. It is even more relevant now because every thing we see in the word is fullfilling before our eyes. For all the pains and hurt we are seeing in this world the word is the only thing you can read that gives one satisfaction not for now only but for eternity. Many will think it is not relevant because they realize that everything in this world is changing and they need a message that changes over time. But God's word doesn't change and that is what makes it so unique and scares people. It is relevant. it is a guide, it brings satisfaction, peace , joy and most of all it is unchanging in a cchanging world. I reccommend the word to everyone. You will find peace.
The Gospel is even more relevant today than it ever was. The prophesies that Jesus talked about in Matthew 24 are coming to pass.

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams." (Acts 2:17)

These are the last days we are living in. God is calling now more than ever for His saints to spread the full gospel of Jesus Christ. God said in His word that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever". (Hebrews 13:8) More than ever in these end times God's creation need to hear the gospel. Let's not shrink back and fall into the delusion that God "changes" His gospel. Because He doesn't.

The Gospel is living that is why it is relevant to our culture today. If you go to the book store and buy the bible version that you can understand (Not the thee and thus and thou) but one that you can fully understand the wording, then you will see how relevant it is. You have to apply it to your life. That is how you find out how relevant your life is to the bible and not the other way around. Pease and blessings.
I believe that the gospel is totally relevent today. When we read old testament stories and NT words, they are spiritual principles that apply for everyone. If we read our bible and dont understand, we need to study it more to get the meanings that have been lost to us through the years. When I look up the words and discover their meanings, I find them to be relevant time after time.
I, personally, believe that The Gospel is very relevant.
However, because it's easily forgotten in today's society, it's not really relevant...especially in comparison to Beyonce. Sad. SMH.
I agree with this statement totally. yes, it's easily forgotten because of society's focus on other things -- materialism, money, anything but the word of god. it is timeless and will always be relevant because the principles are universal. anyone and anybody can relate to the messages contained within...the bible.
I think that the gospel always have been relevant, and always will be relevant. Many times Christians are saved, and they think that they really understand what it means to be a Christian, but they fail to understand the foundations and basics of what it means to be living in Christ. And the Gospel is there to give us the building blocks to really tell us what Jesus did, why he did it, why we dont have to follow the old ways, and the tools that we can use to continue our walk with Christ. Thats why being saved can give you a great fire for God, but if you dont have a good foundation or people to show you the way that you should be directed in, and you dont really get the Gospel and the awesomeness of what Jesus did, than you might "fall off the wagon" and end up a place that God doesnt really want you to be.
